Five-in-a-Row, commonly known as Gomoku in Japan and gobang in China, is a strategic board game played by two players on a gridded board. The objective of the game is to be the first player to place five of their stones in a straight line, either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
Players take turns placing a stone of their color on an empty intersection on the board. Once a stone is placed, it cannot be moved or removed. Players must place their stones so that they connect with at least one of their own stones already on the board.
