Description

Update: I added slimmer springs 1mm and 1.5mm thick because the original spring (2.5) is too strong when the model is scaled up. They are in the files section. Note: If you scale this model up you will need glue to keep the body together.

This is an update of the original version which can be found here:

Do you have a naughtly toddler going around opening drawers and cabbinets? Here is a useful print that can prevent them from opening the cabinets around the house.

This is a multi part (6 Pcs) model. All the parts must be printed.

Assembly is a snap into place mechanism.

You will need 2x 3m tapes (30x30 mm) to stick this to the cabinet. Smaller sizes should work too, or you can cut it to size.

Springs are no longer required as it has the push mechanism built into it.

Here is the assembly video. The process is the same except now there is no need to add any springs.

Hope you like the model. If you do, remember to like and share.

I am open for feedback and suggestions.

As always, Happy printing!

Great model, thanks for sharing this! I printed this in PLA and scaled it to 160% since my cabinet doors are ~100mm apart, the print does technically work but it takes a lot of force to push the spring, so much force that it splits apart the body of the lock (the blue part in the preview). Maybe some glue would help keep the body together but it would still take an unreasonable amount of force to unlock the mechanism. It would be nice to have a thinner/weaker spring for this particular scenario. I have a feeling this isn't a problem at 100% scale though so no fault to the creator on this issue.

Thanks for the feedback. Yes you will have to add some glue because of the clearance increase. I will make the spring thinner for this specific scenario.

Printed well, spring works well enough, and assembled easily.
