Remixed the model from another remix.
This is an excuse for me to mess around. This is my 4th design… ever. I know I have a lot to learn. Got a printer in December '23 and have been mostly printing STL's. Upgraded printers and started designing during April '24.
Remix
- added magnetic removable bottom with lip/guides/slots
- extended the chute to cover the opening and also reduce machine airflow some
- added some small slits on the body to be “fill markers” I had some triangles but they were brutal to print - lines it is…
- added magnets to the top to attach above the screw over the chute way
- left the side fins (which will require supports to be optimal) to be a guide for the body - top and bottom magnet(s) are holding to the chassis
- cut the solid design down due to print height, and added a removable bottom with magnetic slots
Parts (Optional)
I printed a model and used it without magnets. It works. The side fins from the original remix sort of stabilize it a bit.
- 5mm x 2mm magnets (Amazon)
- Side note, magnets are right about 5mm but have variability top/bottom 1.7-1.8 is what I measured
- Use Super/Plastic adhesive to attach the magnets if yours do not have adhesive on them
- magnetic strip that comes with the printer (36mm x 12mm x 2mm - which could be purchased here if you lost or used yours - they are a little different sized, but may work? Or just say screw it and buy bulk - make you own)
- SIDE NOTE - pre-align the magnets so you have the poles correct (You betcha I messed that up.)
Future Considerations
- Thicken the walls of the main body
- Redo the top magnet brackets with heavier magnets
- Fix the distorted coloring/pattern change
