Description

This is a simple concept model made to block the terminals of a 9V battery from touching anything conductive in storage. I made it specifically for storing batteries in guitar pedals, even though most pedals are painted on the inside, better safe then sorry. Even though the concept was simple, the design process wasn't exactly that. If you are interested in how I designed the model there are a couple videos about it on my channel Bowsmin12 Music and posted below.

There are two versions of the model; the terminal version and the open version. I made the terminal socket version to be the most secure version just in case the model might fall off the battery when being moved in storage. But the model doesn't work with certain brands of 9V like Panasonic's. I was also worried about the tolerances of other people's printers. Especially if they aren't using a bambu labs machine. So I included the open concept version to be more forgiving tolerance wise and to hopefully be universally compatible with all 9V batteries.(it works with all four of my different brand testing batteries) Just keep in mind that it may feel looser than most likely desired. In my testing it was stable enough to resist being tipped upside down and knocked from the sides, so it should be secure enough. It may help to up or lower the total size by a percent or two in slicing. but that also might completely mess up the model, I really don't know.

WARNING: I recommend NOT storing the cap in the battery compartment when not in use. Some enclosures are more forgiving about this, like boss style pedal enclosures. But others not so much. Like the Ibanez / Maxon style TS9 enclosures with big gaps leading elsewhere into the electronics. So use your best judgment going forward when storing your terminal caps.
