Description

Medium sized storage box with an affixed hinge lid with a easy to use catch. Approimately 190mm long x 110mm wide x 108mm high (7 ½" L x 4 3/8" W x 4 ¼" H) externally. Take around 10mm off length and height and 15mm off width for internal measurements. All corners inside and out are gently radiused. The walls are reasonably thick, so it is moderately stiff walled. Consider printing the walls with 4 to 6 loops if you want it more stiff. I specified 3 loops on the walls and it was moderately stiff.

There is no other hardware components needed. To assemble the lid and the box, you need to align one end of the hinge on the lid and the box completely, with the spherical knob on the lid positioned inside the concave hole on the box part of the hinge, then using a flat bladed screwdriver or similar, pry the two hinge parts apart as you force the other end's sphere party on the lid into the concave part on the boxes hinge. With a little force it will go together without any screws or fixings. Easy once you have the lid in place.

I use this box to keep my medications in on the dining table, or in the cupboard when visitors are coming, instead of the ugly icecream container I was using.

I printed both the box and the lid on my Bambu Lab X1 Carbon printer in one go and it took around 4 hours 13 minutes at 0.2 layer thickness. No supports were needed because I put angled pieces under the hinge on the box so it supported the small overhang of the hinge pieces. I used PLA White Marble. It looks very good on the table. My house proud wife is somewhat happier now.
