Description

What it is

Stands for common insert hygrometers.

The original design is by Leo Visser, called Hygrometer stand. This here is a completely redrawn version with the following changes:

  • no fixed notches to accommodate hygrometers regardles of the specific angle of the retainer positions
  • tailored to best practice in wall thickness and layer heights
  • more elegant 3 point contact at the footprint
  • different tilt angles → 20°, 25° and 30° from vertical

How to print

The first layer is crucial since it will be the visible front → keep it slow.

To create the cut out and notches for the hygrometer, a negative volume modifier is used. By default two cut outs at 45° are created, simply rotate the modifier to have it suit your particular hygrometer.

An optional color change is driven via a modifier that lets you pick different bezel color schemes with ease.

How to assemble

Once printed simply press the hygrometer in place or insert it at the notches and then rotate it to your desired angle.

The exact hygrometers I used are Bambu Lab's XF001. - There are lots of similar ones out there with tolerances of the injection molded bodies all over the place. If the fit isn't perfect for your third party hygrometer, scaling the cut out modifier or entire design will very likely help and not be noticeable. As example, for these I had to scale the cut out to 99.5% in the XY directions.

What next

There may be improvements and modifications based on feedback given here.

I also made stands for square hygrometers:

Maybe, take a look at my other designs ;-)
