Description

April is the month for Autism Awareness, and we thought it was a good idea to create a dragon to help those remember. This file will remain free for everyone to use as they see fit, we just hope we can all keep in mind that there are many nonprofit organizations that can/will always use some help with all sorts of donations.

Print settings:
.2 layer height
10-15% infill
3 walls
no supports
no raft/brim unless you have adhesion issues

As someone with autism, I'm disappointed that we are still using puzzle logo elements that come from such a horrible horrible organization. The rainbow or gold infinity symbols should be used instead.

as someone with autism and two autistic children . get over it. we are missing pieces. it is the universal autism symbol.

It's not a universal symbol, it is specifically the logo of "Autism speaks" It's incredibly harmful.

when i load the print profile it shows all of the parts colored like they should be so I started it, let I go over night, and it printed like if it’s set to flush into the other objects, but was still flushing from the back of the printer also. nothing like this was mentioned in the description, I ended up skipping the other objects because I was almost out of red so I at least wanted to finish 1 of them.

If the flush volume is higher than what it would use to make the flush item model it will still purge some out of the back. Go to the left in the settings and adjust how much it is purging under flushing volumes. alot of these files set it to 1.0 when you actually don't need it that high. I set mine to .6 then manually adjust the black to light volumes.

It did this for me as well. Not sure why. I removed the second one and the two sharks.

I like the design a lot as well as the colours, you've put a lot of work in to this! The puzzle piece and autism don't mix well for most of us as it sadly has negative with a not very nice organisation. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6085079/ - some study on the topic if you're intrested. Taking this in really good faith, I wondered if you'd consider for your next project a dragon that incorporated the infinity symbol which has become the symbol a lot of autistic people use (myself included) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autism_rights_movement <3

While you have your right to support whatever symbol. Alot of the community still recognize the puzzle piece. Don't let one organization ruin what its meant to represent.

I hadn't heard about the puzzle piece for Autism being studied as being seen as negative or positive. Quit an interesting read. Thanks.

Other Issues:the left leg on both dragons kept popping off no matter which way I oriented them, gave up after 4 fails :( love the model though.

I had 4 fails. as it gets closer to the body the part curls up then gets knocked loose by the head. I'm going to try no fans.
