Description

A fully customizable soda/beer can koozie. I designed this can holder to hold standard 12oz cans, but it may work with larger cans that have the same width, but are taller.

The can holder features a slot on the front that can take any 50x50x2mm print, perfect for HueForge prints of that size. For best fit it is recommended to leave a small flat edge around the border so that it can slide into the slots designed to hold the print.

Build Instruction:

Prepare the build plate for optimal bed adhesion. There is a stop mid-way through printing where you will need to interact with the model and you do not want it coming loose or popping off the plate. A bit of glue may be necessary.

First you will need to print a 50x50x2mm plate to display on the front of the HueCan. Square HueForge models work best for this, but this can technically be anything. For example, you might try importing an SVG into the slicer and placing it on top of a 50x50x2mm cube

Be sure to leave a bit of a border around the edge to ensure it fits in the slot. This print will also need to bend to match the curve of the HueCan so highly complex prints may get have some issues, so it's best to stick with simpler designs.

If you want the top and bottom rim to be a different color from the main body I have set up my primary profile with color changes at layers 70 and 566. If you do not have an AMS and still want a color change you can insert a pause at these layers instead and manually change out your filament.

There is also a pause at layer 449, just before the top layer for the HueForge slot starts printing. This is where you would insert your 50x50x2mm print. If the insert is slightly too large you may need to trim the sides just a bit. At 2mm thick the insert should be fairly flexible and easy enough to trim down the edges with ordinary scissors or other shearing tools if necessary.

Sharing Inserts:

I have uploaded the Kingdom Hearts logo used in my screenshots that I created for my daughter who is a huge Final Fantasy / Kingdom Hearts fan. I would love to see what you come up with for your HueCans so feel free to share your screenshots of your prints and add your favorite insert print profiles here for others.
