Thought I'd try something a little different with this sci-fi concept planter. The idea came from another creator called Smackmax who does some really cool futuristic designs that are amazing. He posted a picture of a sci-fi planter on his Instagram a few months back that looked awesome, so I decided to create my own using his design as inspiration. If you haven't seen his stuff you should really check it out.
The top is a glass bell jar that I got from Amazon here. The inner container has drainage holes in it and the bottom unscrews and acts as a drip tray. I decided to add some LEDs to complete the futuristic effect. I also got these from Amazon here. The top has cutouts that will fit most standard LED strips. You just need to super glue them in place. I think they came out great and really look amazing at night as they light up the top glass portion. Obviously if you decide to install the LEDs you'll want to drip dry your plants before putting them back in the container to avoid too much water getting on the battery pack.
Attached are the STLs and 3MF files as well as pictures of how I installed the LED lights below.
I simply superglued the LED light strip on the top making sure that the LED was seated in the cutout. Hope you like it!
