Description

Giant NES Cartridge. This is made to be hung on a wall, there is a wall hook on the back. You can look for the images online by googling NES Labels. I used MECOLOUR Holographic Sticker Paper, you can find it on Amazon. I resized the images in word. If you do not resize the model and just use the 3mf I uploaded, the sticker size should be around 7.7H X 3.93W. You may have to cut a little off the top and bottom depending on where you find your images.

I printed these upsized down using a Gyroid pattern and 5% infill to save on time. I found that 0.16 layer height works best to hind the lines. The supports I used were normal snug with a 25% threshold angle.

These were printed with Overture Matte light gray.

Happy Printing!

This is my 3d model that you took from Thingiverse, and just added the hole in the back for a screw. Atleast give credit when you take someone's file. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2854184/files

pretty sure another person made this as well but I don't think he used your file. Williams Industries

I don’t think you are the only person on this planet who created one of these files.

I dare say you stole this from Nintendo

what did you tweak exactly?

I altered the side it prints on so the vertical bars in the cartridge print better, adding some ironing to the top so the top and bottom side of the cart should be smoother, and a few other tweaks that are part of my default profile (nothing major in those)

The supports are really too invasive. Otherwise it's a great model :)

If you end up printing another one you can change the supports to your liking. I use matte PLA so those supports come of easier. I also use a torch lighter to get rid of the white marks left behind.

These printed great, but damaged them removing the supports in the ribs, any tips?

You can use a torch lighter to fix the small white support marks.

Its not the marks I am referring to, they are in so tight need to use a flat blade screwdriver to get them out and it damages the plastic underneath and puts a hole in it.

I'm sorry you had issues removing the supports. I printed mine in Matte PLA which makes those supports easier to take out without issues. You could also change the supports to tree supports, that may make it easier to remove them with normal PLA. There was also another profile that used tree supports and printed it on it's side. I'm not seeing that profile anymore, so I will go and make one for you if you would like.

Can you update the label recess to it matches the ratio/dimensions of the actual carts? I just realized the label is too close to the triangle/arrow.

Did you resize the model in the slicer? The measurements I gave for the labels were what I used with the labels I found. How I figured out the size was I took a piece of paper and laid it over the cart and drew a line around where the label should be and then measured that area.

hello I am French and I would like to know how to find the label? And how to make it?

Right, I mean as compared to an actual cart, the indented area is shorter… there should be more space between the label and the triangle arrow.

supports were a nightmare to remove making the model very unappealing.

Sorry you had trouble with the supports. I printed these with Matte PLA which is easier to remove supports. You can always change the supports to your liking in the slicer before printing.

What issues did you have with the print profile to give it a one star rating?

Replying to @220Celsius :
Hey, how come it become one star when i choose 5 star?

I don't know why that would happen, but you can go back and fix it if you want it to be a 5 star.

Vertical, the stl should load into the slicer the way I printed it.
