This easy to assemble trick egg can be used to scare you friends and family on easter.
The spider in this design is made by Drawn_To_Spec. original spider :Black House Spider by Drawn_To_Spec - Thingiverse
printer: ender 3
filament: generic pla
layer height: 0.15mm
wall thickness: 1mm
infill: 15%
supports: no, except spider
raft: no, except egg
note: during assembly be careful note to break the hinge.
1. To make the expandable part cut about 10 mm of filament, touch the tip of the hot glue gun to filament creating a bulge in the end. Stick the non-bulged end through both center holes of the two-part 1s. Now touch the non-bulged end of the filament to the hot glue gun again, locking it in place. Repeat this for all part 1s. once done attach the part 2s on the end in the same way.
2. Now tie a small knot in the end of the string, using the unbent paper clip push it through the holes like shown. Push the same knot through the hole in the expandable part, tying it on, and sniping the excess.
3. Follow the instructions in step one to attach the expandable piece to the remaining hole in the bottom hemisphere of the egg.
4. With this done, now tie a knot in the top of the string and use the paper clip to push it through. Now, play with the length of the sting, holding the string to the outside of the egg to find a length that will let it close while giving it the max extending distance. When you have found this this length drip 3 drops of super glue in the hole and let it dry, being careful not to let the glue drip on to the moving parts.
5. Attach the spider to the top of the expandable piece using the method described in step one, if you want you can bend the legs down. If the egg is having a hard time staying shut, you can put a small piece of clear tape over the front.
