Description

This poop chute does not require any exact magnets or anything like that but all the items you need should be in your stock if you own a bambulabs printer.

REVISON 1.1 FILES NOW AVAILABLE (25th oct 2023)
check following change-log and re-print for better results

This is currently a prototype as its not 100% perfect.already have some improvements for next version that will be adjusted soon. I would also love to get some feedback from you - please post a make and your opinion when tested. If you think its worth some support i appreciate every donation.

The special:
-Very space saving design. The box can be pulled forward so that there needs to be only about 70mm of space to the side of the printer.
-No new exact parts are used that you have to buy.
-The fill level of the box is easy to see.
-The box can be easily gripped.
-Compfortable emptying of the box even in small bags.
-Appealing design

Changelog:
Rev 1.0
- basic files
Rev 1.1
-optimized ramp for less chance of clog
-added a cover for the ramps notch on the back - less chance of clog
-optimized ramp for x1 printers
-optimized bucket to store ~3x more poop b4 need to emptying.

The ramp and box are printed from PLA (Or other hard plastics). To assemble, replace two housing screws on the back, the new screws are included in the spare parts to the printer (spare extruder screw & spare scrapper screw), see pictures.

The printing parts both fit on one printing plate or can be printed separately from one another to use different colors. The models are printed with little tree support (only on printplate).

Tip: Use a double sided tape to stick the ramp to the back of the printer when screwing. This reduces the likelihood of vibration.

printed the latest revision for the X1 Carbon the print profile was perfect and has performed perfectly so far, maybe a slightly bigger collection bin would be better for a larger multicolour print to reduce emptying and print pausing

printing the new revision now had a issue with the last one where the chute would not send the poops down to the collection bucket and collect at the top where it connects to the printer

It printed beautifully the chute itself, printing the catcher now. I just love that boxy design. Only issue with the chute part was the screw hole was a bit rough for the top screw and I could see the imperfections. The tree supports worked perfectly and came off easily except for that screw hole which was also fine after a bit manual removal from the whole. I printed it with X1C with Basic PLA with your project configuration unchanged on PEI textured plate. Sent a little tip your way via PayPal also, thanks for reusing the existing parts in the package, saved me another shopping for magnets and stuff. I will post a picture once the bottom also completes. nice not having to reach the back of the printer anymore to clean up. I do a lot of multi-colour printing with AMS, it is a pain. After the catcher, the black piece, finished, I noticed in one back corner, there was an imperfection pictured. it does nit affect the functionaloty though. Solid job, love it so far. 👌🏻

@Yannik, the chute down from the back tends to clog, it needs to be a bit more wider I think. That turn is good but opening is very narrow. I noticed that when I was using Basic PLA from Bamboo, it got clogged. With that said, I am using also the waste reduction machine gcode changes as well which may be contributing to this. https://www.printables.com/model/582382-bambulab-profile-for-up-to-60-purge-reduction , please see the sample pictures of the "filament poop". Any thoughts for the V 1.2? The other area for improvement is the splitter in the collector. if it cant send it to back or front, it will also start building there as well.

@Yannik, any luck on looking into the issues mentioned above. I dont want to give up on this chute but keep getting up in the middle of the night to clear the blockage lately, lol :) Yours is a sleek design, this must work, lol :D

I'm not a super multicolor printer so I think the size it's enough if I can simply remove to empty it. Cool. UPDATE: There is a big issue here, namely I don't understand why you put the inner walls in the drawer. They obstruct the flow of waste, and every time you have to use your finger to try to remove them. It would have been much better if the drawer had been completely empty.

I started off printing just the chute to see how it worked; the bucket would come later. I used Sunlu transparent PETG on the Bambu High Temperature Plate with the stock settings from the printer profile; it printed in about 2 hr 44 min. The printing of the outside of the shell looks pretty good, however, the tree supports failed and created a spaghetti mess inside. I pulled out what I could, but there was a lot of support plastic left sticking to the inside wall. Using some dental probes, I got a lot of that off, but because of the geometry, it is challenging to remove it all; I can’t easily get scrapers inside to clean off the remaining snarls. Unfortunately, you need pretty smooth surfaces all around so that the little coiled plastic pellets don’t get snared on their trip down the slide. I may have to try printing it again.

It works well, just don't really understand the use of the compartments in the tray, seems like a waste of space imo.
