Description

Magical Nesting Dragon Eggs

Features:

  • 3 Different Surface Patterns To Choose From
  • Nest 5 Eggs together (Russian Doll Style)
  • Threads Are Specifically Designed For Scaling Up And Down (Min 50% - Max 400%)
  • No Support Needed
  • An Almost Seamless Secret Storage Container
  • Print Large Eggs To Store Your 3D Printed Dragons In
  • Great For Easter Egg Hunts
  • Can Also Be Used As A Gift Box For Anything That Will Fit Inside!

Extra Info:

  • The included print profile is set up to print 15 eggs of varying sizes. This would make 3 nested sets of 5 for each design. You of course do not have to print them all and can edit/delete what you don't require.

  • I have set up and tested the scaling for 5 nested eggs (the included profile). This is not the limit though as the largest egg in this collection is only at 160% of the original scale.

  • In order to fill a 256mm build plate, you can scale 1 egg up to 400%. If you scale all eggs under that (in roughly 25% increments) you would end up with a nest of around 15/20 eggs!

  • The included print profile is set up with variable layer height. This is to make the overhang at the base as smooth as possible. It does print absolutely fine with no variable layer height but it will have some slight stair stepping at the base. If this isn't a concern for you, then feel free to remove the variable layer height and print away! - The time difference between on and off is probably only 25% but thought it was worth mentioning.

Thanks for looking!

I'm excited to see some eggs printed in some funky filaments, so please share your pics in the comments below :)

Dragon nesting eggs came out great. My son asked me to make a nesting type toy so this was perfect as he loves dragons

Hey! - Thanks for printing :) The threads were made in Fusion360 using Metric pipe threads with negative offsets for tolerance! It's egg-streamly easy once you've done it a couple of times ;) haha Have a great Easter!

Absolutely great. This surprised everyone with how good Printer finishing quality is. The screw threads also work great.
