Description

Attention!

It seems like the actual version of Fusion has problems with projections inside some sketches.

This problem is definitively new since one of the last updates. At the moment I don't have the time to re-construct it. But hopefully it will work after the next update of fusion again.

In a few weeks I can try to re-design it, but at the moment I don't have time for that.

(2024-04-26)

I uploaded many different sizes, but you can also make your own size using the uploaded "parametric Gift Box.f3d".

You need Autodesk Fusion 360 to set the parameters. It's free for private use.

Customization

For those who are not familiar with Fusion here are very detailed instructions (see also the uploaded screenshots):

Open the file Parametric Gift Box.f3d in Fusion 360.

  1. Click Modify …
  2. … and Change Parameters
  3. In the following dialog you can edit the parameters. If the recalculation of the model fails just use the old value. Probably some other values need to be decreased (e.g. radius). Please use only reasonable values.
  4. Click File
  5. … and 3D Print
  6. In the following dialog click on Select
  7. … and chose the component “box” in the browser on the left !!!
  8. Refinement should be high and Send to 3D Print Utility unchecked.
Click OK and select a destination to export.

Repeat steps 4-8 for all four parts (box, lid, ribbon, ribbon_bow)!

Print Instructions

  • 3 walls
  • no support
  • larger / longer parts may need a brim

I used PLA with .2mm layer height.

If you have any hints or suggestions please let me know.

I would love to see photos of your gift boxes …

Looks like a bed adhesion problem. Did you clean the plate?

The plate was clean. Problem are the small parts. That wil no fix to the plate.

Sorry. That would mean that you always have to use a brim if you print small parts. That's not true.

Thank you for showing something I should have figured out a long time ago, it was a real facepalm moment for me. Assembling the objects by color before printing 'by object'. 👏 Printed beautifully in Bambu ABS using your single plate jewel box profile. Very satisfying to snap the bow into position.

I'm trying to change the width to 230mm in Fusion360 and the ribbon is not scaling with the width, any ideas?

printed multiple boxes and it was easy to modify parameters by following the instructions given. I sized it to fit some money in the box.
