Silica Gel Dry Box - suitable for ThomaS's Spool Holder (Samla 22l)

I use the practical Spool Holder by ThomaS to store my filament spools in several IKEA Samla 22l boxes.

However, since I wasn't entirely satisfied with the silica replacement process, I designed a simple, flat dry box with a sliding lid. It's flat because there isn't much space between the spools and the bottom. I don't consider it absolutely necessary to close the lid, so I omitted a latch. If the lid were to get stuck during silica replacement, it wouldn't be fun…

Two of the dry boxes fit into the base frame of the spool holder, each with 78 grams of silica gel filling with a diameter >1.5mm - I use regenerable silica gel of 2 - 3mm size. The boxes can be easily inserted and removed with a little play.

Dimensions of the small dry box: 125 x 125 x 15mm
Users have reported that it can also be easily used in IKEA Samla 45l with other spool holders.

Update (05.05.2024):
After some users noticed that the lid had "a bit too much play", I adjusted the offset and made two successful test prints. The lid now runs tighter in the guide, but without sticking.

Additionally, a thermometer/humidity holder for the Spool Holder by ThomasS - Ikea Samla 22 has been designed, which simply clips onto the holder. The holder was designed so that if the box is placed lengthwise on a shelf, for example, or stacked on top of each other, the hygrometer is visible.
