Description

The chute is designed to redirect the poops into any bucket placed alongside the printer or over the edge of the desk into a floor bucket. I did not integrate a bucket because normally something which can be used as one is found in any household. Tis is just to print not more material than needed.
The width of the chute is adapted to the width of the poop ejection cut-out on the back of the printer. In contrast to many other chutes there is a radius guiding the poop around the corner to the side.

I used screws to attach the chute to the printer. There are different advantages of screwing it to the printer:

  • In the back of the printer there are already holes right next to the cut-out
  • The screwed chute will never fall off or be moved to another position by any effects during printing or moving your printer
  • It is easy remove the chute if you need to without any risk to break it

I mounted the chute with two M3x8 screws. I recommend to use washers to reduce the danger of breaking the chute

Looked through a lot of designs for one simple and curved like this with a high enough wall to catch wildly ejecting poops. This is perfect and everything lined up nicely with the screws. Used black Bambu PLA Matte. Great forethought in adding the additional hole in the wall to put a precision screwdriver through to get to that bottom screw. Bravo!! P.S. The tiny box is not what I actually use as a poop receptacle, I just put that there for the picture.

Great model! Didn’t realize that you cannot use the original screws that come with the printer because they are too short, but I can just get longer screws. Do you happen to know what kind works best?

Thanks for the hint with the screws! I used two M3x8 Srews with washers. They are working fine. I also added this information to the description.

My X1C is really close to the wall and needed to screw it in since I have no platform so this is exactly what I needed

Just printed this yesterday and was going to attach it today but I've got the same question – what screws did you use? The original ones are way too short and cannot be reused for this purpose.

at what height from the surface on which the printer is installed is the bottom of the overpass - I want to make a removable container for poops.

The chute ends about 3.5 to 4 cm from the ground the printer is placed on. You can vary it a little bit by using the clearance of the holes for the screws. I am not using the anti-vibration feet therefore I don´t know if it is the same distance with these

Dumb question: would this work on an X1 also without mods?

I can´t answer this question finally because I am having a P1S. But I am confident that it can work because the back of the printer is really looking the same on pictures on the internet. Please let me know if it is working when you print it

Love how solid it is. Magnets are nice but Threads are better.
