Description

This is yet another desiccant case, it is designed to follow the curve of a standard 200mm spool so it can fit in the edge of a smaller dry box.

The case is sized 6x6x15 cm to exactly fit the box I use and hold 100g of desiccant (photo shows proof ;)).

Print it standing upright, default settings should be fine. I print these in ASA so I can dry the desiccant in the box itself. It uses a simple snap-on lid system that I've found to be really reliable.

01-05-2024: I've  added a bottom frame that you should be able to glue inside your box to hold the boxes in place while moving them. I've not printed it myself though, but I've purposely used quite a big tolerance. I've also added a step file version (besides the existying f3d_, so anyone can easily edit it.

good print! thank you very much. holds silica quite well. a spacer to hold both would be nice ;-)

Thanks! can you specify what you mean by a 'spacer'? it might be trivial to make, but I don't know what you mean?

something on the floor to click both components in. I use them in a big Samla box and they keep moving around 🙈

@olske I've added a bottom frame as a .3mf file, hopefully this works for you? I've also added a step file in case you don't use fusion, so it is easier to possibly edit yourself.

Clever design. Fills the voids in my tote and holds my silica beads. The X and Y could have been better, but the Z was spot on for my Ezy Tote 19qt waterproof tote. I am going to attach these holders to the bottom of my tote with Velcro so that I may remove them to replenish the silica while also cradling my Bambu filament spools. I started with printing just one to see the quality. It was quite nice so I continued by printing 3 more. See pic. So I printed a total of 4.

printed 6 of these to hold desiccant in a home made dry box, works great, keep humidity around 20% for a ip67 storage box that holds 16 rolls of filament.

design works fine! my silica is a little bit to fine grained, so it will come out of the gaps, so check your silica before printing ;-)

This is a great model for my storage. probably will remix to make the holes smaller as small pieces of desiccant falls out of the current holes.

I printed them now many times and the result is really great. I have to say that from time to times small portions slip out, but I can manage.

Printed nicely in PLA Tough, but had some issues on 2 of the 4 prints to attach the lids. Lids stick a bit too much.
