Description

I designed this new nozzle wiper for my X1C. The original wiper isn't effective and when I got my A1 I saw how great the A1 wiper was so I decided to adapt an A1 wiper to my X1C. This solution cost me less than $1 and now my nozzle is always clean which reduces defects on my prints.

I tested this print during more than 30h of printing without a problem.

The A1 wiper is available for purchase from the official Bambulab Store at an affordable price.

⚠️ Use a material that can handle the heat, like at least PETG.

INSTALLATION:

Remove the screw holding the original wiper - Using the larger allen key.
Cut an A1 silicon wiper in half and install it on top of the new wiper.
Insert the part, the back first and press the front to fit inside the purge chute.

UPDATES:

This new release fixes a purge issue after the first layer inspection (X1C) where the toolhead would purge on top of the wiper.
I had a problem with the screw holding the original wiper, the screw doesn't provide enough support, so I decided to develop a new way to hold the wiper.

After testing I see that my printer still purges right on the wiper after the first layer inspection. Do you think it would be possible to move the wiper something like 3mm to the right ? I tried both with Bambu Studio and Orca Slicer. I don't know if there is a setting that I can change, I'm surprised nobody mentioned that yet. Please let me know :)

I have the same issue: the nozzle parks itself to cool for a first-layer inspection and then parks itself back on the whipper to heat back up and purge a little.

Same problem here. And I have this problem with all the wiper design that I tested. Are some printer parking their nozzle closer to the wiper than the other printers ? Because I don't see anybody complaining about this on every design I tested... maybe people disable the first layer inspection ?

A bunch of people have tried the model. Though, I have a shorter version that works on the newer sized Wiper. Just be aware that the little fingers will hold air bubbles so you have to use a small pin or something to poke the silicone into them.

I liked your V1, I love the V2 better. As other comments said, this doesn't fit snug enough for the moment. When my nozzle goes to wipe, it tip the wiper forward making it lower and less effective. I was in a rush with a tight deadline for prints so what I did, I shimmed the front of the model with the A1 wiper as you can see in the picture. It helped a lot and has nice give to it

i changed the Support Settings a Bit for a better finish, beside this, a Perfect print

Ended up printing 3 of these to dial in my setting till I got it the way I wanted it in ASA. Uploaded my print profile in case it can help anyone else. Once I got it scaled right (I found 102% to be perfect) I really like the print a lot better than the v1.

When you say "top front" do you mean that part where the supports connect? Same material supports will always be rough, but if you have an AMS, you can use PLA for the support interface (if printing in PETG), and change your z distance to 0, and interface layers to 3. You will get a much smoother finish, and the support just peels right off.

Printed fine, but it's not snug. I'm sure it will get pulled out when the nozzle tries to wipe. Unfortunately I can't use it.

There is too much tolerance for something that should be snug. That is funny, if you read the benefits, it says "Tight fit" lol So, until there is another version, scale to 101.1% did the trick for me (ABS). Not too much snug so I can remove it but just enough so it doesn't get lifted by the nozzle.

If you print this in PETG scale it to 101% for shrinkage. It will then fit snugly.
