Spacemaker Pencil Case

A remake of the 1990s classic Spacemaker pencil case.

This pencil case is as true to the original dimensions as I could get. The only deviation is the hinges to attach the top and bottom which snaps together. The original used a living hinge style that wasnt ideal for printing with PLA/PETG; however, I may upload a version that utilizes a TPU printed snap together living hinge in the future if there is enough interest.

The case prints great with PLA, the provided profile should print with no issues. Just make sure you keep it to 50%+ infill to ensure the integrity of the hinge.

For PETG printing, the print will work great (the blue case was printed in PETG in the pictures); however please ensure your print bed is cleaned to ensure you get sufficient bed adhesion. This is particularly important for the lid which utilized a brim for stability until the lid connects to the first support tree.

If there is enough interest as well, I can work on releasing the various models of spacemakers (wide, thinner, with handles, scooby doo etc) based on this original model.

Assembly:

The hinge on the lid have slight indentations that allow the bottom hinge to snap into place if they are in the ‘fully open’ position (See pictures). They will easily snap together if in this orientation.
