Description
DrakeWing – Folding Fan
Inspired by the elegant shape of dragon wings, DrakeWing is a fully 3D printable folding hand fan featuring articulated wing-shaped blades. Its lightweight design combines smooth folding action with a unique fantasy aesthetic.
Printing Instructions
The model is organized into 4 build plates.
- Plates 1–3: Print using the default profile settings.
- Plate 4 (Screw & Nut): For the best thread quality and smooth assembly, make sure that the following settings are set:
- Layer Height: 0.12 mm
- Outer Wall Speed: 100 mm/s
- Inner Wall Speed: 150 mm/s
- Infill: 20%
These settings improve the print quality of the threaded components and ensure a smoother fit during assembly.
Assembly Instructions
- Print all 4 build plates.
- Organize the printed parts according to their build plate order.
- Follow the step-by-step assembly process shown in the video below.
Tip
When opening or waving the fan, the wing-shaped blades may lightly touch each other, producing a small amount of noise. This is normal and does not affect the functionality of the fan. If you'd like to reduce the noise and achieve smoother operation, follow the simple modification shown in the video below.
