Description

  • Introduction

This is a reproduction of the IKEA handle that comes with many of the Besta series doors and drawer fronts.

It has extra wall thickness to mantain mechanical properties given that the original part is made from steel.

  • Installation

Spacing between fixing points is 25 mm (not every Besta door has predilled holes)

Screw holes will accept a 4-4,5 mm bolt diameter. And the countersunk is designed to accommodatea a 8-9mm diam. flat head.Typically, Besta doors have 18-19 mm thickness. Select your hardware accordingly.

Use wood or metal screws depending on your door's material (for instance, Glassvik model has an aluminum frame but Lappviken ones are made from wood)

  • 3D Printing settings
    • Layer height: 0,2 -0,28 mm
    • Infill percentage: 20-25 %
      Infill pattern: cubic
    • Filament: used ASA on mine but PLA will be fine.
    • Orientation: place the part in vertical position with the smaller lip facing the front of your printer (see picture). This will take the filament junctions to the backside of the handle in order to obtain a better surface finish on visible faces.
    • Add supports at the screw holes ( requirement for countersunk feature + vertical printing).
