Description
A mini ledge for displaying models in shadowbox frames. Specifically designed for Macross 1/60 models, it could be adapted for others. Objects simply rest on the ledge with gravity; there's a small lip to keep them in place. There is also version included which is compatible with gokinplus display mounts and arms.
For the frames themselves, I used Ikea Rodalm (12x16 and 19.75x27), but the design is fairly universal.
At least two M3 x 16mm screws are needed to assemble (slightly longer or shorter would be ok, depending on the thickness of your art) the ledge and the backplate. The “art” is sandwiched in between. If you are using glass with the frame, make sure to find a way to punch 2 holes into the glass to accommodate the mounting screws. Some frames come with thin acrylic and plexiglass which are very easy to cut, but be careful as these are very brittle and EASILY cracked if you drill into them. I used a lexan hole reamer tool on plexiglass and it worked perfectly.
