Peg Fit-Test
Print Profile(1)

Description
Purpose
This utility generates a customized set of cylindrical pegs to verify the actual printed clearance of your 3D printer. It is specifically designed to help medical physicists calibrate the fit for Multi-Target Winston-Lutz phantoms or any assembly requiring precise mechanical tolerances.
The Calibration Ecosystem
For a complete tolerance profile of your printer and material, it is highly recommended to use this tool in conjunction with the Ascending Cylinder Hole Test Abstract.
- The Hole Test: Use the Hole Abstract to find the minimum diameter your printer can reliably produce as a "female" cavity.
- The Peg Test: Use this tool to find the "male" diameter that provides the ideal sliding or friction fit for your inserts.
- The Result: By comparing these two values, you can determine the precise clearance offset needed for your specific setup (e.g., if a 1.9 mm peg fits perfectly in a 2 mm hole, your required offset is 0.1 mm.
How to Use
- Calibrate: Set your target_diameter (e.g., matching a BB insert) and a diameter_variance (e.g., 0.2 mm) in the Customizer.
- Identify: Each peg is printed on its own cube base with the exact diameter debossed on the front face. This ensures you never mix up your test samples.
- Verify: Physically test the pegs in your phantom’s cavities. Use the diameter of the best-fitting peg for your final clinical build.
