Description

This model is a remix of the TNG Tricorder by UnimatrixRed. Each color is on a different plate. I used the 6x2mm magnets to hold the lid closed as opposed to the rods which looked funky to me. I got the magnets from Amazon. Pretty cheap. I left the multiple base tags on a separate plate in case someone prefers one of those. The right-handed version of the base is there as well. The sensor frame with parts I am leaving 2 ways. One is the complete piece with 6 colors and I also am posting a cut version for those who don't have more than 6 colors. I put them all on 1 plate but please move them to separate plates to print.

I used a paperclip that I straightened out for the hinge pin and not the one that is printed and it worked well for me.

Most of the model was printed in PLA. However, I printed the red LEDs in transparent red PETG and the emitter tip in PETG. You can easily change that if you prefer PLA or another material.

I am also including my Photoshop file for the decals. I printed them on an Epson inkjet and then used packing tape to make them glossy. You could use decal paper, but I didn't have any. After that, I cut and glued them to the model.

For the most part I am happy with the results but might revisit it and will post the new files.

Please support the original designer UnimatrixRed on the original link. This and the other models are mainly his designs just tweaked and laid out for the Bambu printers.

Wow! I had one of the props from WAAAY back in the day, and this looks identical. Printing it now!

Are they breaking when you remove the supports or when you assemble it? I used a paperclip for holding the hinge together. The printed dowel doesn't seem to work very well in PETG.

when I remove the supports and I did it super carefully too. I’ll try with a different filament.

Everything printed great except for the top part of the body which had alot of artifacts at the top. I adjusted the support settings and used a PETG interface to print a better result.
