Printing Instructions

Small print-in-place mechanism. Proper extrusion matters.

  • Material: PLA recommended
  • Supports: Not required
  • Settings: Default profiles work

Mounting

Attach to the side of a desk or surface using double-sided tape for a clean and simple installation.

Choosing the Right Profile (Recommended)

Start with the Official Profile.

If needed:

  • Too tight (hard to close / stuck) → use Loose Fit profile
  • Too loose (weak latch / opens too easily) → use Tight Fit profile

These profiles already compensate for small extrusion variations.

Fine Tuning (Optional)

This is a compact precision mechanism — extrusion accuracy directly affects performance.

If you prefer manual adjustment:

  • Too tight → reduce Flow Ratio slightly
  • Too loose → increase Flow Ratio slightly

Adjust in small steps (±0.05) and reprint if needed.

Each filament behaves differently — even within the same spool over time.

A visual guide is included in the image gallery.

👉 This model can also be used as a quick real-world flow calibration test.

First Use

The first openings may feel firm — this is normal.
Open and close a few times to break in the mechanism.

Note

This mechanism is designed to work best when mounted.
It may feel stiff when handled by hand, but once fixed in place it opens easily and performs as intended.

Key Features

  • Print-in-place hinge mechanism – no assembly required
