Description

Needed a box to store a jig saw after the cardboard one became damaged.

The case has an insert that I opted to print separately so that I can use the box for other tools with other inserts, you can print the box without it, with it or join it in many programs.

I printed this big case (255mmx249mmx91mm) in a Bambu X1 but take into consideration that to “unlock” the full build volume you have to follow the steps stated in this bambu wiki link: https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/knowledge-sharing/print-volume-limitations

The printing itself was done in PLA (due to the box being used only at home) but if you want something sturdier you should print in PETG or ASA. The rubber seal was printed in TPU for flexibility. You should print one of each except for the latches that should be two.

You'll also require 8xM3 nut and 8xM3 27mm screws (I only had 30mm screws so I sawed those and used them). If you use 30mm screws they'll work but the tip will show a little but they wont hinder the function of the box.

For extra protection I added some foam on the top of the box and inside the lid but you can either leave it as is (the tool will shake a little) or use that space to add some storage space.
The image depicts a HPC (some initials) in the lid but the uploaded file is a clean top so that you can use like that or add some personal flair.

Happy printing!
