Bill of Materials
Description
This box has a sliding lid that transforms without lifting. Simply pull the handle towards you and the lids will swing out of the way allowing you to get to the contents inside. Push the handle back up and the embedded magnets will hold the lids in place. The lid is at an angle for ease of access.
You can print either a freestanding version or one to hang on the Ikea Skadis pegboard, with plain lids or ones decorated with M. C. Escher's lizard design.
Requires:
- 2 x 5x2mm circular magnets
- 2x M3 10mm or 12mm machine screws
- Superglue (CA glue) or similar.
Assembly instructions:
Print the parts (box, lids, handle, and pins) from the print profile in the filament of your choice. Glue in the magnets. Attach the handle to the lids. Glue the pins into the box and allow to dry. Mount the lids on the pins one at a time, making sure that when assembled the front edge of the lids is vertical, like the box.
