Parametric Gridfinity Box with Sliding Lid

This parametric gridfinity box has a sliding lid that transforms without lifting. Simply push the handle towards the back of the box and the lids will swing out of the way allowing you to get to the contents inside. 

You may choose between plain lids, lids with tiled M. C. Escher lizards, or lids decorated with a traditional Japanese Shippo pattern.

The two compartment box has a gridfinity footprint of 4x2 (167.5mm x 83.5mm). The box in the print profile is 60mm high (including the gridfinity base, and excluding the 6mm lids and 13mm handle). The box is also parametric, so you can specify your ideal box height in the customiser (minimum 5mm - to allow for the gridfinity base).

The box will print on all Bambu models including the A1 mini. All parts print without support. Requires 2x M3 10mm or 12mm machine screws to fix the handle into place. Do not overtighten the screws - the handle should rotate freely, with the screw head flush to the underside of the lid. A small amount of lubricant in the lid rail channel may make the movement more smooth.

Update March 2026: I have added a version of this box that has a sloping lid and fits to an Ikea Skadis peg board. Two magnets hold the lid in place closed.
