Description

Samurai Girl Hueforge

The Rest of the Fantasy Themed prints can be found in this collection here:
https://makerworld.com/en/u/4065522623/collections/624430

I have assigned the model to have a variable layer print height, which means that the first 4 layers of the model will print with a 0.16 layer height, and switch to a 0.08 layer height for the details. If you use my uploaded print profile this will save you time on your print as the first 0.64mm is just to provide stability to the print for display. This means that the layer heights listed below in my printing instructions will not match my print profile (they will be off by 3) but the mm heights will still match! Do not change the print profile to match or it will not look the same!

If you resize the model make sure you do NOT scale the Z axis or the print colours will not be in the same position

Please post a picture of your printed copy! I'd love to see it!

If you would like to print a frame for it, I have a design here:

https://makerworld.com/en/models/173529#profileId-190705

I have designed a box to hold 100x100 or 100x150 sized prints that I make here:

Please post a picture of your printed copy! I'd love to see it!

Looks Great. Curious though - how do you set the height perfectly on the first 5 layers? Setting the first say 5 layers thicker would definitely improve print time. I have tried to do this manually through the variable height feature by left/right clicking the mouse - but it is hard to make it exact. Do you do this through the settings? or is there a trick on the variable height function i do not know?

Its a two-fold process. First in hueforge when assigning colours I make sure that my "Min Depth" Setting is at 0.64mm. This how thick the print will be, before it starts doing details. Then in bambu Studio I assign a height range modifier as shown in this picture. I tell the slicer that for the layers between 0 and 0.64 to print the layer height at 0.16mm. Once it completes the 0.64 layer (4th layer) it switches to the next height modifier that says between 0.64 to 2.64 each layer height is 0.08mm. This ensures the quickest print time without sacrificing any of the details. And I use 0.64 for the base because I feel like it gives the print a good physical feel when you pull it off the plate, the print doesn't feel thin or flimsy
