Description

I've been experimenting for a while with using HueForge and Craiyon to create switch plates. I've got a couple in the works, but thought I'd share this one for now.

I wanted to create the look of looking down the hallway or corridor of a science fiction spaceship with a glowing door at the end and the switch is where the door is.

I used Craiyon to make the image and HueForge to make it printable and then actually used Tinkercad to create my switch cutouts. So I put the raw image into the Bambu slicer and added the cut outs as negative parts to it.

The back piece is printed and glued on separately. I had a hard time getting the fit exactly how I wanted, so I ended up gluing it on the back and using a deburring tool to smooth and trim all the edges. So be aware that the back may not fit exactly, but you can also print the plate and then adjust the backing as you see fit in the slicer if you want before printing it.

I designed it to be around the size of a mid sized switch cover so it is about 4 7/8" tall 3 1/16 wide. It is about 1/4" at the thickest when assembled.
