🔧 Fuel Cap Tether – Replacement Strap for Fuel Filler Cap (TPU)

Replacement fuel cap tether designed as a direct substitute for the original part, which often breaks over time.

This model has been tested on Škoda Octavia II and Škoda Fabia I.
According to spare-parts catalogs, it should also fit other VW Group vehicles.

🧩 Print Profile Variants

The print profile includes 2 variants:

1️⃣ Strap only

• Minimalist version
• 2 holes for original mounting pins

2️⃣ Complete version (strap + ring)

• The ring fits around the fuel cap
• Ideal if the original ring is damaged or missing

🔄 Updated Model – Version 2

✨ Improvements (Released: February 17, 2026)

• Reduced eyelet diameter for full round mounting pins
  (e.g. Škoda Fabia I).
  The previous version (v1) was designed for the larger half-round pin used in Škoda Octavia II.
  The new version fits Octavia II perfectly as well.
• Narrower strap width for improved flexibility and better bending performance.

🔄 Updated Model – Version 3

✨ Improvements (Released: June 9, 2026)

• Angled strap for improved durability and fit
  The strap now features a 45° angle, allowing it to sit in its natural twisted position when installed. This reduces material stress, improves flexibility, and helps it fold more neatly inside the fuel filler compartment.
• Reduced eyelet diameter even more (from 6.6mm to 6.2mm)
  The new version (v3) features an even smaller eyelet diameter for a very secure fit on the mounting pin. This prevents the tether from accidentally coming loose, but it also makes removal more difficult. If you need to remove it, you will most likely have to cut the eyelet open.

• Material: TPU (TPU 95A or similar recommended)
• TPU parts are suitable for outdoor automotive use. Typical operating temperature range is approximately -30 °C to +80 °C.
• TPU offers good resistance to petrol and diesel fuels under normal automotive conditions.
• 100% infill or higher density recommended for durability
• No supports required
