Description

Moving Sailing Ship Kit Card

Go on a journey with my new Kit Card!

Turn the wheel on the bottom and the ship starts sailing!

I designed it for the „MakerWorld Kit Card Contest“.

I wanted to create a fun Kit Card with moving parts.

Please make sure your printer is well calibrated and the filament is fresh or dry!

Be sure to avoid warping (for example: reduce external cooling)

It features:

  • Moving ship
  • Moving waves
  • Comes with stand for display
  • 1 plate print profile for X1- series / P1- series / A1
  • 2 plate print profile for A1 mini
  • Easy to unhinge

Assembly

First unhinge all parts.

Take the bottom part and the rear wave part.

Put the groove of the rear wave part on the tongue of the bottom part as shown on the picture below.

Next take the part with the island and put it on the left side. Make sure the correct side points down. Now put the spacer part with the overhang on the right side. Afterwards put the axle on the bolt.

Now put the left and right spacer on top. Take one of the three cams and place it on the axle. Make sure it points to the right.

Next place the wheel on the axle. The square shaped spacer on the wheel points up.

Put the sailing ship on the pin as shown and place the second cam ontop of the wheel. It points up. Make sure the axle doesnt rotate while assembling the parts.

Place the middle plate on the bolts. The gap points up.

Continue with the front wave part. Put the groove on the tongue as shown.

Take the last cam and place it on the axle. It points to the left.

Finally press the front cover in the holes until it locks.

If you want to display your Sailing Ship, place it ontop of the stands.

Instructions for use

Now enjoy your moving Sailing Ship. Turn the wheel on the bottom and the ship starts sailing!

Excellent model, easy to put together, very clean looking. Ended up printing the waves in both PLA and Translucent PETG, but I have to say, the PLA with the white top was an excellent idea, that's a nice touch. I had an idea to do something similar with the moving parts, but never ended up doing it. Great execution on yours though. Love it.
