Description

This model is the print-in-place version of the 5mm COB LED Soldering Jig. If you prefer to have locking guides you can remove/clip on, then give the original version a try (that version is much more forgiving on led and wire dimensions).

Soldering Jig to aid working with small 5mm COB LED light strips (where the contacts are on the underside of the strip).

This had been designed to comfortably and securely hold the COB strip and connecting wires in place whilst soldering, with the help of print-in-place guards (that rotate to secure the strip and wires). There are no separate guards/grips to get lost.

Usage

The jig can hold up to 2 COB LED strips at the same time. It can work as a standalone jig or as a friction-fit insert for the Soldering Clip helper by @mario.schrank.

Printing

2 versions of the jig are available, one for 24/26 AWG wire and one for 28-30 AWG wire. They both have their intended wire gauge written on the bottom of the jig for easier identification.

PETG is recommended to allow slight flexibility in the guard.

It is strongly recommended to use a 0.4mm nozzle for this and 0.16mm line height (as provided in the official print profiles) due to the small size of the jig and the tight tolerances of the print-in-place guard.
