Scaffy - The First Customizable and Adjustable Scaffold System
Customize and adjust to your liking to support anything you want. Use your creativity to build and create structures out of Scaffy.
Whether it's filament, 3D printers, to even mining rigs (which is what I did), you can build Scaffy to support and add a structure to anything! Scaffy uses dovetail joints to keep everything together. The parts can last years depending on the load. The parts in the pictures are over 5 years old! When they start to bend and get misshapen, just print another joint!
Scaffy is easy to customize using Fusion360. Just download the f3d file, click on “solid”, hover over “modify”, then click on “change parameters”
Then adjust parameters to your liking to build your own unique structure.
Parameters -
Width - The width of the joint
Angle - Angle of the dovejoint. HIGHLY RECOMMEND LEAVING AT 80 degrees.
Length - The inner Length of the joint
Clearance/Tolerance - The clearance/tolerance between female and male attachments (default: 0.25mm should work for most printers
Pattern Width - The width of the zig-zag lines in Straight Joint
Pattern Length - The length of how long the pattern goes for (HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU LEAVE THIS ALONE)
Height - The height of the joint
DoveFilet - The filet radius of the dove joint
DoveLength - How long the dove joint is
To find your printer's clearance/tolerance, you can find many clearance/tolerance tests online.
If you encounter any errors changing the parameters try changing them bit by bit. For ex: DoveLength 20mm→ 5mm. 20 → 15 → 10 → 5

Print Settings -
I use PLA, any other hard filament should work (PETG), definitely avoid TPU.
0.2-0.28 layer height
I would use a minimum of 15% infill, depending on the strength required
2 walls work great, up to 3 walls as required
No supports needed for any of the models
X-Y compensation not needed if you adjust tolerances and clearances in fusion360
