Description

The Gamepad 1378

In the tradition of the 1311, this gamepad also borrows a bit from Atari . The internals are from the CX78+ (wired). Of course, it works much better with the Commodore logo on it.

Assembly

  • Remove the 6 screws, PCB, buttons, and D-pad from the donor CX78+.
  • Be careful with the screws — they are very tiny. Store them in a safe place, as you will need them.
  • Make sure the D-pad is oriented correctly (pointing upwards) in the new case.
  • Install the PCB so it sits flat, with the corners positioned in the intended retaining points.
  • Attach the back cover using the original 6 screws.
  • Play 🙂

Tip: Use a small amount of (silicone) grease on the inside of the D-pad octagon. This will give an ever smoother operation.
