Description

Airless Tennis Ball version 1.1. Tested and approved!

After several tests, we concluded that the geometry presented in this model is the one that performs the best with the given materials.

The conclusions on recommended materials show that to achieve impact resistance it must be printed on flexible materials with a certain level of hardness to keep bounciness.

The best material to print this ball is TPU 98A since it gives a bounce similarity to the real one. (Almost 50% from the drop distance)

PLA Flex also gives a bounce similar to the official one but can be seen some cracks after a while of use. (We are testing a new mesh redesign for this material in particular).

TPU 95A resists impacts without breaking but has a bounce reduced to approximately 20%.

PLA or PLA+ will work only for displaying purposes. We do not recommend using these materials if you want to make it bounce as it can break easily.

v1.1 Fixed seam line detail to enhance bevel from hex mesh.

It's a simple item but with a fantastic design. Nice idea. Easy to print with little filament. Used P1S

normal supports, you need to manual paint supports only for the base (Easy to do with paint bucket and only on overhangs option enabled)

Can ya use tree supports on this or normal ?

Normal supports work well because the support only comes on the round bottom surface against the building plate. The structure of the ball itself does not need support.

Printed with Bambu Lab PLA Basic on my A1 Mini using the default settings. I'm unable to successfully remove all of the supports. Any advice will be appreciated.

Hi there! you need to manual paint supports only for the base (Select bucket painting and enable only on overhangs option), before printing check in preview on bambustudio that the supports are only generated there 🤞

Printed in TPU, nice result but the lower part is printer with many small defectos. In any case such as cool model.

I am going to evaluate a repositioning of the model on the plate so that the supports do not get in the way, or a small adjustment of the model to facilitate that sector. Thanks for the review!

i know it sounds hippie but be yourself with 3d modelling, keep designing your things, get inspiration on trending models and try to add your touch on requested models. For a couple of days you are doing great!
