Description

Use this to help secure an Ikea Duktig Play Kitchen to your wall.

My Duktig fell over flat on its face yesterday and nearly hurt one of my kids. I foolishly thought it was fine after a couple of years of play by my first child. My second kid happens plays a lot harder with it which led to it getting knocked completely over yesterday.

I made this quickly and the Duktig now seems extremely secure against the wall.

Most people will opt to secure this to gypsum/drywall. Just be sure your screws are anchored well. If you don't know what I mean, please ask at your local hardware store. I also recommend securing them as high up on the Duktig as you can so that children can't get a lot of leverage against the clamps. If in doubt, you could print more of them, but at least print 2 and secure it from both sides.

I fastened it to my very tall baseboards because my walls are not drywall, but lath and plaster.

Also, beware that if your slicer or printer do a poor job printing these, then they may have no strength. Install them and then test them yourself. I can't be responsible for you or your kid's safety. A poorly functioning clamp might be more dangerous than nothing because you'd hace a false sense of safety. Please be smart and mindful. <3

I chose to specially make this stick out to the sides (as opposed to mostly hidden behind the unit) so that adults could plainly see the Duktig is attached to the wall and not necessarily try to pull really hard on the whole Duktig to move it.
