Description

This is a wheel that I designed. It is 72mm (3in) in diameter and fits onto a 5mm shaft. Feel free to change the design however you want for personal use.

I printed the hub out of ABS on an Ultimaker S5 and the tire part on a Formlabs Form 3+ from 80A flexible resin.

The design of the tire allows the wheel to flex easily and deform to increase the surface area for more grip. The design of the hub makes the wheel lighter and consumes less filament. The hub has a two holes for an M3 bolt to provide the option to tighten it onto the shaft. There are two of these holes, because one would make the wheel unbalanced.

I hope that my wheel design will help someone's project or at least inspire a new project.

I am hoping you make a version with 5mm hex center with a center screw hole for the mini RCs and 12mm hex center for bigger RCs. That would be awesome!!! Thanks

I’m sorry I don’t have an RC car so I don’t know how a hex center looks like. I’ve included an .step file so modifying the design should be fairly simple. You could also send me pictures of the axles on your RC car with measurements and I would be happy to modify the design for you. Thank you for requesting something. I would like to help you out, so if you could provide me a description of you need with photos and measurements I think I’ll be able to help you.

Hi... what I mean by 5mm or 22mm hex center is the version of the wheel with hex shape/hole for shaft with shape like the tip of 5mm or 12mm allen key (you already made 5mm round shape shaft). Maybe I will try to remix from your file. thanks
