Description

I am proud to present the Card Top-blade: a beyblade-like top with included spinner in a handy card kit.

All in the size of a standard credit card!

It can be conveniently stored in your wallet for random beyblade challanges on-the-road with friends.

It prints within 30 minutes, can be built in seconds and last for hours of fun!

I tried to reduce waste as much as possible so it only uses 7g of filament.

Notes:

  • I printed a few already and all prints went good, just ensure clean surface.
  • For smooth operation make sure all the attachment residues are removed.
  • Pieces have a tight fit, so it requires a little force to snap them close, but once in place it is quite solid. Mount the Top-blade pieces keeping the top surface layer towards the bottom.
  • Due to the small size there is little space for fingers to hold the launcher, check the GIF for how it should be hold. I manage to have enough clearance for my chubby fingers, so you should be fine. The model has some slight recess to indicate where the fingers should go (on the opposite side to the pulling cord).
  • On first use, run back and forth the pull with the top engaged a few times to smoothen the cord teeth a little, it gets easier to launch the more you use it.
  • For building instructions please refer to the last animated GIF.

I plan to create in future alternative blades for personalisation, feel free to upload, modify or present your own iterations! I do not own an AMS so all my prints are monochromatic, but I would love to see multi colour versions.

This is a great little model - fun and simple. My 10yo son was stymied by the lack of clear build instructions, but with some adult supervision this turned into a perfect example of a "find the model, hit print, make the kids happy" workflow. as the designer suggested, it really demands all the roughness be cleaned up for it to work well. I printed in PLA but suspect that PETG, being more slippery, might be better if you have it on hand.

Thanks for the positive feedback, I am glad your son enjoyed it. I had thought about uploading some build instructions but haven't got the time. Now, I have uploaded a gif as quick guide.

a little hard to get to spin initially, I had to sand down the ‘point’ but it works well otherwise.
