Description

This is a test of my own working Iris from stargate. At first I did not even consider to publish it, but after i published a video about it, i saw that there is a demand so here it is.
The iris works, It fully closes and retracts.
For the assembly, please take a look at this video where I describe the mechanism.

Other Issues:I really like the model and its details are awesome. However, I had big issues with the tolerance. Unfortunately, none of the iris wings were working and I broke a lot of pins while trying to assemble it. So I used super glue and the whole mechanism stopped working for me. Despite these issues, I still love this model and would give it 3 stars. Thank you for sharing with us!

Hi! I print this https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3640070 (event_horizont.stl) scale it with dimensions in slicer and make it thinner to fit it in stargate. Have a nice print ))

I am trying to scale this up to 200%. The StarGate printed ok and I was able to add connectors to it. When I do the back part (yyy_-_iris_rig_1.stl) it freaks out. See image. The other 3 parts slice perfectly. Not sure what is going on. Also included picture of StarGate at 200% with AU 20 cent piece as comparison, it looks so cool.

Holes are very narrow and are difficult to move. I drilled out the holes

I did too, but I can’t get it to fully open or close. the sliders don’t seem to move enough. any advice?

nice prints but the mechanism doesn't work for me, I don't know where I made mistakes, I tried all day and nothing. it would like gears.

With a lot of force you can move it until something breaks off at some point I've already drilled the holes to 5mm. the pin is still annoying from the file yyy_-_iris_rig_3

The print profile is no longer public

Pas réussi à faire tourner... Ça a cassé. L'iris est impossible à imprimer sans en déchirer la moitié au décollage... Mais la porte est belle 😊 (sans iris)
