Description

The 10:1 Mega Brick Skeleton deserves to be a year-round household decor item, so it needs some accessories to celebrate the holidays.

For St. Patrick's Day, why not a fancy leprechaun hat?

I made two versions, one with the belt at the bottom and one higher up. Make sure you print the matching parts for whichever one you choose. Note that I did not make it fit precisely onto the head emulating the brick studs to save on plastic/supports. It sits comfortably on top for decoration, but don't expect to play with it.

You should print:
- One of the hat of your choice
- Two of the matching connecting belt pieces
- One matching belt buckle

I included a 3mf file from BambuStudio for the mid-buckle version with some support settings set.

Printing Notes

Hat
The bottom belt version is 100% printable without supports; it uses 45 degree angles inside to make a very solid structure. To save filament, I used my slicer to use lightning infill for the top half.

I printed the top belt version with some manually-painted supports for the top of the belt slot, though that may not have been necessary. I also used the same technique as the other version to use a modifier in the slicer to use lightning infill to save filament.

Belt
Print two copies of whichever version matches your chosen model. I had some issues with warping, so I added discs in my slicer at the ends to help hold it down, which seems to have helped.

Buckle
Best printed upright with supports.

Thank you to D3m0nicSoul for the shape of the hat and Julia Ebert for the original skeleton model.

I had some slight issues on the top of the hat brim, it looks like things were getting snagged on the grid infill, this could have been an issue with my filament/printer. Overall it looks great and I'm really happy with the results.

This is exactly what I was looking for! I only see files for the top belt version, nothing for the bottom belt. Are these available?

All good! I found out I had more green filament that I thought so wasn't worried about the supports anymore.
