Patch panel module for CapRack, a capsule 10-inch rack system

CapRack is a server rack mounting system that allows you to install more equipment in your 10-inch server rack.

This is a patch panel that holds 4 keystone jacks for the CapRack.

The patch panel module, connected with a pi 4 modulel

CapRack modules are composable! You can connect any 2 CapRack modules into a 1U 10-inch module.

I have created some CapRack modules:

Requirements

You need 2 x M6 screws and 2 x M6 hex nuts to connect this module with other CapRack modules.

How to connect CapRack modules

Check it out here for how to connect 2 CapRack modules!

How to install keystone jacks

As far as I know, keystone is not an official standard - actual size can vary. I have only tested the module with keystone jacks I had - it may not work seamlessly with the keystone in your hand.

  1. Prepare the module and keystone jacks. Remove any support printed.

  2. Insert the jack from the back side of the module into a square hole. The clip faces up:

  3. Push in, to the top part of the jack. The jack will be installed with a ‘click’:

How to remove jacks

  1. To remove a keystone jack, first push back the jack to the end, from the front side of the module:

  2. Hold the rear part of the jack, softly push up, the jack should be off:
