Description

This is a clamp that extends the Multiboard system onto desk surfaces (but not only). It is basically a simple clamp with built in Multiboard attachment points. Features of the clamp:

  • at bottom Big Thread to clamp to the surface with the use of Multiboard bolt
  • at side Dual Snap part A and a push-fit hole to secure Multiboard grid or accessories (there is file without side snap, only push-fit)
  • at top Snap with push-fit hole (there is file without snap nor push-fit hole)
  • 30 or 50mm clamp opening for desk
  • 15mm T-bolt to secure Multiboard grid to clamp side

Clamp should be printed laying flat as provided in files. Two small supports are needed for the side Dual Snap - regular supports should be easily removable and should not require any post processing. I printed with 4 walls and 4 bottom & top layers, 15% infill. With these settings clamp is pretty sturdy. Increase infill and walls count for more rigidity.

PETG recommended for some flexibility and durability.

Happy printing and Multiboarding!

Great idea, but model information is a bit deceiving. It states there is a 30 or 50mm clamp "opening" for desk; however, the clamp itself is 50mm not the opening. I didn't realize that until after printed. The 50mm clamp's opening is only about 32mm. Unfortunately doesn't fit my desk. Edit: Just discovered that one of the files might be named improperly. I downloaded the file "multiboard+clamp+50+mm+no+top+snap.stl" which opening is not 50mm. I just downloaded "multiboard+clamp+50.stl" and the opening is larger and the clamp itself is a little over 70mm. Might want to take a look at the files.

Yep, it seems 4 files had name mismatched. Should be fixed now. Sorry for inconvenience and thanks for letting me know.

A 40mm might be good to have, my Ikea Alex desk (very popular) requires me to put two thick rubber strips on the bolt and top of the clamp in order to barely have enough grip. A 40mm version would probably solve this nicely. Still a nice model that solves my issue of wanting to mount a multiboard to back of my desk.
