Description

Upgrade Tower for Cozy Minecraft Lamp by Sakul since I realy loved the design but could not decide which color to go with.

Thanks for your great desing @Sakul.

I wanted to have the opportunity to display any color I want.

Therefore I designed a tower you can put into the Lantern without any glue or similar.

It is designed in a distance where the light look pixelated but you can not see the leds as dotts.

The print is orientates upside down to be printable without supports.

Onto that one you can put a WS281x LED Strip with 34 Leds (using a 30led/m strip).

The ESP is connected to the upper part of the Tower to get the wires around the corner.

Hock a ESP of your choice to it (I took a M5Stamp C3 to have a usbc plug) with WLED installed and use the config and/or the Presets in the raw data zip here.

Plug it in and enjoy the show. If you use the config and presets it should start with a lava lake animation wich looks like this:

Happy building and customizing!

Great idea, and a helpful guide for my first attempt at using WLED! Thank you. I used some Warhammer paints and some wood pla as well.

Im sorry this is my first time using a programmable LED strip. Could you help me find the same strip you used. So many options my head is spinning.

you can buy it on AliExpress. the best brand is btf lighting. he uses a ws2812b I think. It's the easiest to buy a 5 volt strip. You will also need an esp32, which are also very cheap on AliExpress

Hello, it does not really matter which ones you pick, but it needs to be adressable (three contacts - one starts with DI) or search on AliExpress for Adressable LED (I'd prever the 5v version).

Hi! Is there anything at Amazon that i can purchase that can do something similar? I see the strip just not the controller?

Hi, these should be comparable, as they are also based on the C3 Chip: https://www.amazon.com/-/de/dp/B0CW62PPZ1/ref=sr_1_2?__mk_de_DE=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&;crid=3RG9ZOOIRRG9G&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.slgd4fEBCFFl1vxwSN4YT-KJsYmIyLlfSDbYyn6uUFZlA-RrR01aexKFfYPDKQhc0qry-q8gnQdpuWiG7RotNoGZ5dcPxSvS-N11AXidqVvVq9T3gBnwMxNNgisaFN71JR3JWCbWgHQRGPMB-KwdFTz7GqNdZ5AHXZMibu0dWCvaFk0xPri4xP8T4v6C8N-XnQrgX4Q1fRt09999xpfTAHV0Q2Jm2LetfPAhYkEqByo.C6mMrdFoZ8RTl-SkBfbbG3a55iGJaGKLjE_jhUsAdLo&dib_tag=se&keywords=esp32%2BC3%2BM5&qid=1734520525&sprefix=esp32%2Bc3%2Bm5%2Caps%2C199&sr=8-2&th=1 If you prefer a more economical option, the Wemos D1 Mini should also suffice: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081PX9YFV/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=UEJ4VMUV9L04&;dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.wPNtdWSrS_nY76DNm_LaDJCggAHuSWCO2nOgSVXPEhk_CoGld8AvnpCASIcYXo5a4quiMMw-C2rfaVm1oGmKFK9X5fTdbuKepAOyphh6tmWEzZ7i7IP4Pz-5algyAq9EtfbMjlWJ8dAdoAl3OqpOFXUDk-Zl06yQiSVuyH2gTvPPvZbWd-7x5EyQKB20XZYN5NBFX9ZYsveGF-9WRJDsgRRet7EtFHFELTRE8A_tOv0.r2ogq1VQy_9xqI2mOQsxlI1139CyU8pFIZCif2Evg7o&dib_tag=se&keywords=wemos+d1+mini&qid=1734520436&sprefix=wemos%2Caps%2C420&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1 For both, I am uncertain if the code will function immediately. You might need to create a custom WLED configuration. Edit: Typo
