Quoridor is an engaging strategy board game that combines tactical movement and clever wall placement. Let me explain the rules in detail:
- The board is meticulously designed to be foldable, allowing for easy storage and portability.
- When unfolded, it reveals a 9x9 grid with clearly marked squares.
- The grid serves as the playing platform for the Quoridor game.
- And organizer made by @LeeBob is available.
Rules :
Number of Players: Quoridor can be played by 2 to 4 players.
Objective: The goal of the game is simple: be the first to reach the opposite side of the game board with your own pawn.
Preparation:
- The game board consists of a 9x9 grid, with each player starting in the center of one edge.
- 20 walls are available, and they are divided equally among the players.
Starting Position:
- If there are two players, the game begins in the front row in the middle (marked with a plus sign).
- Each player places their pawn in the center of the first row on their side of the board.
Gameplay:
- Players take turns, choosing either to move their pawn or to place one of their walls.
- When a player runs out of walls, they must move their pawn.
- Pawns move one square at a time, either horizontally or vertically, but never diagonally.
- Pawns must bypass walls.
- If a player’s pawn faces an opponent’s pawn, they can jump over it, advancing an extra square.
- If the space behind the skipped opponent’s pawn is blocked, the player can choose a free space to the left or right.
Wall Placement:
- Walls must be placed between two sets of two squares.
- You cannot lock your opponent’s pawn by placing walls; they must always have at least one path to their goal.
Winning Condition:
- The first player to reach one of the nine squares opposite their base line wins the game.
Remember, wise wall placement is crucial, especially as you run out of walls.
