Description

If you are like me, you dedicated many hours and a few rolls of filament to print this awesome riser only to find the LED light setup to be less than ideal. So rather than print a remixed version of this riser all over, I designed this solution. It lightly snaps into the tiny groves that are there and allows you to install a standard 8mm wide LED light strip at an angle down where it won't blind you. Although it does snap, I would highly recommend gluing in place.

did you cut the riser here (arrow) to pass the cable?

No, I wanted to connect the lights to the internal USB so I found a clip around the brim to put the cord in but the strip has been slowly unpeeling due to the cords weight.

Overall good build, couple things that could be touched up upon. I had extreme difficulty with the connecting pins for the pieces, they are quite janky and easy to break or require a perfect hole to fit in or else you have to jam them in. Then increasing the overhang in between the bulbs a little more. They do the job and I added glue as a extra precaution, but I connected the lights to the internal usb and the cord kept pulling the light strip down. luckily theirs a hook for cords around the brim of the printer so you can finesse the cord into one of the clips to prevent the strips from being pulled down.

Thanks for the feedback, I will look into reworking the LED strip fitment. It is possible that LED strip sizes are not all created equal so glue may end up being the best course of action. I'm also going to add some hooks onto the ends of the rails as well. As far as the janky pins go, that was done by Bambu's slicer. I might be able to play with the cut feature and make it a little better but cleaning up the pins with a hobby knife seemed to do the trick for me.

printed well. some of the supports were sneaky and didn’t see them until I was putting it in the unit. 100% needed some glue or it wouldn’t stay put. but overall but better at holding my led strip.
