You might've noticed the small LED strip that comes in the K1 just isn't enough. You could always install a longer LED strip on the back face of the frame. It helps a lot but there will always be a blind spot kinda area behind the hotend since it blocks the light. You could install more LED strips on the sides of the frame but the X-axis rod housing thingies moves uncomfortably close to the frame. So I came up with the idea to just raise the LED strips away from all moving parts. I really like JC's Lid Riser so I modified some of his betweeners to hold LED strips. This will brighten up the chamber and get rid of the dark blind spots.
These will hold a 10mm LED strip 170mm (7 in.) long. Simply get a 10mm 24V LED strip you can cut to length - preferably one that doesn't come with the crappy diffuser material. The plastic material tends to overheat, melt and go bad. You will also need a 1.25mm JST female connector (pictured) to use the factory cable.
Supports needed.
🚨This will require soldering and connecting electrical components onto existing wiring. If you don't know what you're doing, please ask someone who does for help. I am not responsible if you damage your machine or whatever worse may come of that..
Enjoy and don't blind yourselves.
