Printed on a Bambu Lab X1 Carbon in Basic PLA, 0.28mm Extra Draft layer height / quality and everything went together perfectly.

 

I used to store my tape on a dowel, but I had to remove all of the rolls if I wanted to use one on the back of the dowel. This model stores tape rolls on hanging arms that can swing out for easy (one handed) access.

 

You'll need to print a few parts:

 

Dowels and hangers: Select the right size dowel and hangers, along with the end cap. The dowel is modular, so you can always add on more pieces to extend it. If you need other size dowels or hangers, please let me know.

 

Base plate and pegs: There are currently files for Ikea Skadis pegboards, 1in x 1in pegboards, as well as the ‘Honeycomb storage wall’ by @RostaP. The pegs are printed separately, then clipped onto the base plate. There are arrows to help orient the pegs in the correct direction. The honeycomb base plate has the legs already integrated into the base plate (no separate pegs).

 

There's also a non-pegboard base that can be attached to a wall with screws.

 

Tolerances are .2mm, so I recommend calibrating your E-steps and flow rate before printing these parts.

Print settings

All parts print with no supports. Connectors have only been tested with PLA. Softer, more compliant filaments may not snap together securely. There are test connectors in files if you want to see what works.

 

Pegs: .12mm layer height, .44mm layer width, and 10 walls (so they print solid). No supports required.

 

All other files: No special settings required. Recommend at least 3 walls. No supports required.

Assembly

When clipping in the pegs, make sure the arrows/triangles on the pegs point in the same direction as the arrows on the base plate. You may need to get them in 70% of the way, then press the plate flat on a table to get them to ‘pop’ in. Also, the clips tend to develop blobs/zits all around. Be sure to clean those up with a razor blade: If you don't, the clips won't fit properly.

Great idea for saving space on a HSW! Prints exactly how you need it and perfect fit with PLA+. Particularly love the modular character and that you can add / change parts any time. Tanks!

printed well. works for narrow tape rolls. recommend adjusting width of hangers to accommodate two wider rolls as an additional print option.
