Description
I really hate most insects in my home - this trap gets rid of most of them.
The model is parametric: It can be adjusted to fit any (circular) container and target any species of insect. The three parameters are:
- Diameter: Enter the inner diameter of your container. (mm)
- Height: Leave as is, unless you have a reason to change it. (mm)
- Insect Diameter: Enter roughly the size of the insect species you target. For example:
- Fruit flies - 3 mm
- Wasps - 7 mm
- Hornets - 12 mm
Instructions for Bait:
- Put a tiny amount of dish detergent in your container.
- Put some water in your container.
- Put something the insect likes into the container, e.g. fruit juice, apple vinegar, soy sauce.
- Put the 3D printed part on top of your container.
- Wait for the dumb insects to fall into your trap and drown.
- Empty the container and replace the bait as needed.
Obviously this trap only works for insect species that like your bait, so adjust as needed.
