Hi all! This is an articulated moth that requires no supports. The wings move up and down and can stand up or lay flat. There are 2 different versions here not counting single color- ones that have regular wings (color on both sides) and huewings (color on topside only).
There are 4 Luna moths in the pictures - single color (white), purge/flush into object (gold on wings and black/white marbled body), 4 colored ( green wings on both under and top wings, and lastly the Huewing (Multicolored textured wing look, green body stripes).
This model, in all forms was successfully printed at 75% (white and purge), as with any other articulated model, the small it is the more fragile it can become. The wings are thin but pretty sturdy and can handle being played with, probably not being stepped on.
Huewing - this was an experiment I've been wanting to try awhile, and I think it turned out pretty good. This is not layer changes in preview. You will also notice that there are 5 colors (black, a darker green, green, white, and gold). Gold is only for the antennae and I selected the black slot for this and manually put in gold after the eyes finished.
Note: the wings are thinner on huewing, and look much better laying flat, as the bottom is black. Huewing can also take a while to slice- my computer took 7 mins. A better computer than mine may not have the same problem. Simplifying the wings adds holes.
This is a Private use file. The regular Moth model (not Huewing) will be available for selling physical copies at this commercial use link: HERE.
Thanks for checking out my models!
